The field is deep on this season of “So You Think You Can Dance”, but we’ve got a certain feeling about these five dancers…

We can’t help but to wonder who will make it to the Top 20. These dancers especially caught our eye, and if they keep up the good work, we can see them going far this season!
1. Alexis Gilbert
In season 14 of the show, Alexis Gilbert won over hearts everywhere when she slayed auditions with her sassy jazz routine. After being sent home during the group choreography round last season, she practiced multiple dance styles so she could make an even stronger comeback this season. She returned at the season 15 Los Angeles auditions with another mesmerizing jazz routine – but we still can’t get over last year’s audition routine…

2. Evan DeBenedetto
Evan DeBenedetto amazed everyone with his tap audition in New York last week. DeBenedetto almost made it to the Top 20 last season but was eliminated when it was time for the All-Stars to choose their final partners. His audition routine proved that he did not come to play this time around. DeBenedetto’s tap skills were impressive, but don’t get it twisted! This dancer has serious skill in other genres as well.

3. Hannahlei Cabanilla
The judges were clearly impressed with Hannahlei Cabanilla’s audition routine and didn’t need to deliberate at all on whether or not she has what it takes to move forward in the competition! Cabanilla is a young dancer, but her talent is nothing new. We found this video of Cabanilla’s solo routine at the KR 2017 National Dance Finals, and we’re even more excited to see what she brings to the stage on this season of SYTYCD!

4. Tessa Dalke
We couldn’t take our eyes off contemporary dancer Tessa Dalke when she took the stage in Beverly Hills. Her physical strength and ability to display authentic emotions was beautifully executed through her audition piece. Check out this solo routine Dalke performed two years ago at the Hall of Fame Dance Challenge competition.

5. Kyle Bennett, Jr.
Another veteran contestant from season 14, Kyle Bennett, Jr., has returned and made it to The Academy, promising to not let his nerves get the best of him. We can’t speak on Bennett’s talents in other styles just yet, but his creativity gets an A+ from us! He managed to tell a story with his routine that was captivating, and we weren’t the only ones who thought so. All four judges gave Bennett a standing ovation, so it’s safe to say he’s pretty amazing at what he does. Here’s another clip of Bennett, also known as “FlasHDrive”, from World of Dance Boston in 2016.
