In this week’s episode of Dancing with the Stars, the celebs really fine-tuned their movements and stepped up their game by performing more intricate routines! We’re highlighting five couples who knocked it out the park for trio night, and then breaking down the two couples that were in jeopardy. As always, we continue to lose one couple each week. You won’t believe who was sent home after bringing in the lowest combined scores last week…

1. #TEAMRENTEN

Alexis Ren and Alan Bersten are taking over number one performance this week with their stunning tango! The amazingly talented Maddie Ziegler joined the two for a trio that was LIT –  both literally and figuratively. The neon lights that took over the stage behind these three made the performance, which is probably why they received a score of 25/30.

2. #TEAMSTICKIT

The charleston was a dance style made for Mary Lou Retton! She, Sasha Farber and Nastia Liukin received #TeamStickIt their highest score of the season so far. The smile on Retton’s face showed that we weren’t the only ones who loved this routine. Judges gave this performance a 26/30! We look forward to more high scores like this one for Retton and Farber!

3. #TEAMWITLO

Riker Lynch made his comeback by joining Milo Manheim and Witney Carson in a salsa routine for trio night. Their performance was filled with energy, which might be why Wisin’s song “Adrenalina” accompanied the movement so well! The three were in perfect synchronization throughout the routine, and the judges picked up on their skills as well. An almost perfect performance, the three received a 29/30 from the judges.

4. #TEAMSUPERDUKE

John Schneider and Emma Slater stepped it up tonight with a dramatic tango! Former N’Sync star, Joey Fatone, joined this couple and put on a show. Their routine might not have been the most impressive in terms of technique, but we’re sold on the acting and performance parts! The beginning was a little shaky, but by the end we couldn’t look away. Schneider is making improvements, and while they might not be coming along as fast as others, he gets an A+ for effort! Judges rated this routine a 21/30, which seemed a bit unfair, but we’ll take it with a grain of salt.

5. #TEAMKEVANNA

Evanna Lynch chose her former Harry Potter co-star, Scarlett Byrne to accompany her and Keo Motsepe for their salsa routine. We love that Lynch is staying true to her Hogwarts roots, but what we enjoyed even more was the presence she brought with tonight’s routine! Despite the few critiques the  judges had for this performance, they scored it a 24/30.

#TEAMBEAUTYANDTHEGEEK – 17/30

#TEAMCHECKUSOUT – 15/30

#TEAMWARESOURMIRRORBALL – 22/30

#TEAMFIRESANDFLAMES – 26/30

#TEAMCHERNANDO – 24/30

At this point in the season, almost everyone has made great improvements in their dancing abilities, which makes it hard to say goodbye! Nonetheless, we said farewell to another couple. Tinashe and Brandon Armstrong were placed in jeopardy for the second week in a row, and this week, Lynch and Motsepe joined them. We had expected both of these couples to go far this season, so sending one of them home so soon was not something we’d hoped for. Ultimately, after combining the judges’ and the viewers’ votes from last week, Tinashe and Armstrong were sent home.

Viewers and contestants said their goodbyes to #TeamFiresandFlames – a couple who constantly received high scores from the judges. This week’s elimination proves that YOUR vote matters! Don’t want to see another one of your favorites go home next week? Go to case your votes here! Make sure to tune back in to ABC next Monday at 8/7c to see who will still be considered for the Mirrorball Trophy!
