ALL IN FOR AUBURN
“I believe in a sound mind, in a sound body and a spirit that is not afraid … and because Auburn men and women believe in these things, I believe in Auburn and love it,” part of the University’s creed reads. And if you hear that legendary battle cry “Warrrrrrr Eagle,” then you know you’ve found yourself in a special place.
Nestled in picturesque eastern Alabama with a postcard-perfect campus, Auburn University is known for its strong academics, natural resources, and a robust athletic community that’s uplifted throughout each sports season by the Tiger Paws dance team. But this is no ordinary collegiate dance team — at Auburn, the 20 dancers are deeply committed to serving their university and community in ways that reach far beyond the fields of play.
Head coach Darby Scarborough, who is an Auburn legacy after her dad played football here, is a Tiger Paws alum, having danced her way through her undergrad years, serving as captain in her junior and senior years. After a short stint in Dallas, Texas for graduate school, Scarborough has been heavily involved with the program since 2011 as the strength and conditioning coach, and now, as head coach. Even though the position “was not on [her] radar initially,” she admits to Inside Dance, the job came to her at the right time.
